Mar Thoma I
In 1653, Thomas of Palamattam Thravadu was consecrated with the title Marthoma I by 12 priests in 1653 after Coonan cross oath. Marthoma I had survived a number of assassination attempts. He died on 25 April 1670 and was interred in Angamaly St Mary's Syrian Church.

Mar Thoma II
​The second Metropolitan of the Malankara Syrian church from 1670 to 1686. He was consecrated by Mar Thoma I and the Antiochean patriarchal delegate Mar Gregorios Abdal Jaleel who was the archbishop of Jerusalem. He died on 14 April 1686 and was interred St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Niranam.

Mar Thoma III
Mar Thoma III as successor of Mar Thoma II. At that time Mar Ivanios Hidayuttulla who arrived in Kerala in 1685 was the only bishop in Malankara. So Mar Ivanios consecrated Mar Thoma in 1686. He was died on 21 April 1688. interred at St.Thomas Orthodox Church, Kadampanad

Mar Thoma IV
​From 1688 to 1728 he was the fourth Malankara Metropolitan. Mar Thoma IV was also consecrated by Mar Ivanios Hirudyathulla. Died on 24 March 1728 and was interred at Kandanad Martha Mariam Orthodox Church.

Mar Thoma V
From 1728 to 1765 he the fifth Malakara Metropolitan. He was consecrated by Marthoma IV. Died on 8 May 1765 and laid to rest at St. Marys Orthodox Church, Niranam.

Mar Thoma VI
He was consecrated by Marthoma V. Died on 8 April 1808 and laid to rest at St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral Puthenkavu. It was remembered period in Malankara church. In June 1770, he accepted re consecration from Antiochian bishops in order to avoid a split in the Church and the title Dionysius was accepted. Marthoma VI did not approve the appointment of Kattumangattu Abraham Mar Coorilos as a metropolitan by a bishop from Antioch. This was the beginning of Malabar Independent Syrian Church. He was forced to conduct a service according to Chaldean Catholic rites but escaped during a rebellion in Travancore under Velu Thampi. Rev.Dr. Claudius Buchanan visited and made arrangement for the translation of the Bible into Malayalam. Marthoma presented him the Peshitto Bible written in the old Syriac. This manuscript is kept in the public library of the University of Cambridge.

Mar Thoma VII
From 1808 to 1809, he was seventh Malankara Metropolitan. He was consecrated by Marthoma VI in 1796. During his time on 1 December 1808, a sum of 3000 Star Pagoda (in 2002 one Star Pagoda coin had a market value of £475) was given as loan in perpetuity to the British resident Colonel Macaulay. This is known as Vattipanam. Marthoma died on 4 July 1809 and was interred at St. Peter's & St. Paul's Orthodox Church, Kolencherry.

Mar Thoma VIII
From 1809–1816 he the eighth Malankara Metropolitan.Consecrated on 2 July 1809 by Marthoma VII. During his time Kottayam Suryani Seminary was opened and modern education began in Kerala. Marthoma died on 26 January 1816 and was interred at St. Mary's Cathedral, Puthencavu, Chengannur.

Mar Thoma IX
Mar Thoma IX was the ninth Metropolitan of the Malankara Church in Kerala, India for a brief period in 1816. That year, he was consecrated Metropolitan by Mar Thoma VIII without the consent of the people. and should handover all the charges to Pulikkottil Joseph Mar Dionysious II (Mar Thoma X) who was consecrated by Mar Philexinos of Thozhiyoor. He was died in 1817 and interred at St. George's Orthodox Syrian Church, Kadamattom

Mar Thoma X
Pulikkottil Mar Dionysius I was tenth Malankara Metropolitan for nine months until his death. He was consecrated by Mar Philoxenos, at Thozhiyur Church in 1816. He was died on 25th November 1816 and interred Kottyam Pazhaya Seminary Chappal.

Mar Thoma XI
Punnathra Mar Dionysius was the eleventh Malankara Metropolitan. He was also consecrated by Mar Philoxenos (Kidangan), at Thozhiyur Church, 1817. It was his suggestion during the time of Mar Thoma IX to establish the Syrian seminary at Kottayam, Kerala's first educational institution. He appointed Konat Varghese Malpan and Palakunnathu Abraham Malpan as teachers in the Seminary. He died on 17th May 1825 and was interred at Kottayam Cheriyapally.

Mar Thoma XII
Cheppat Mar Dionysius IV was the 12th Malankara Metropolitan. He was consecrated by Geevarghese Koorilose (Kuthoorey) at Thozhiyur Church, in 1825. He was died on 9th October 1855, at Cheppad Valiya palli (St. George Orthodox Church, Cheppad)

Mar Thoma XIII
Mathews Mar Athanasius (Mar Thoma XIII) was the Malankara Metropolitan of the Malankara Church from 1852 until 1865.He was consecrated by Moran Mar Elias Patriarch of Antioch at Mardin, in February 1842. Metropolitan died on 16 July 1877 and interred at Maramon Church.

Mar Thoma XIV
Thomas Mar Athanasius was the XIV Metropolitan of the Malankara church, during 1877 to 1893. Mar Athanasiu's period was a turbulent one in the history of this Church. There was a litigation that took ten years to settle. Malankara Church was divided into two. The majority came under the jurisdiction of the Patriarch of Antioch, while the remaining individuals continued to be independent with their own Metropolitan, Thomas Mar Athanasius.

Mar Thoma XV
Titus I Mar Thoma Metropolitan was the second Mar Thoma Metropolitan, after the Malankara Church split as the Orthodox and reformist factions, during 1893 to 1909. After the split in Malankara Syrian Church Thithoos Mar Thoma was the Metropolitan of the Reformed Fraction, which later chose the name Marthoma Syrian Church of Malabar, now popularly known as the Mar Thoma Church. This church remained completely independent.

Mar Thoma XVI
Titus II Mar Thoma Metropolitan was the head of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church with its center in Kerala state in south-western India during 1909 to 1944. It was in the Malabar Coast in the 1st century CE, Thomas the Apostle arrived to preach the gospel to the Jews and non-Jewish locals, from whom emerged the Nasrani people and their Malankara Church. They followed a unique Hebrew-Syriac Christian tradition which included several Jewish elements and Indian customs. The Mar Thoma Syrian Church is still a part of this Malankara Church community.

Mar Thoma XVII
Abraham Mar Thoma XVII Metropolitan was the Metropolitan of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church from 1944–1947. He was called Maret Kochu Thirumeni by his people. Among the bishops of Malankara Churches Including Mar Thoma Church, Abraham Mar Thoma was the first to earn a Doctoral degree. On 25 February 1905 the formation of Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam. He was died on 1 September 1947.

Mar Thoma XVIII
Juhanon Mar Thoma XVIII was Malankara Metropolitan during 1949 to 1976, who gave leadership to the church and at the same time actively participated in social and political arenas. He is remembered for providing the church with its famous motto "Lighted to Lighten". His humanistic and socially-engaged approach to the Christian faith was embodied in his personal credo: "The Church must be interested where human life is interested. Juhanon Mar Thoma died on 27 September 1976. He was interred at St. Thomas Church in Tiruvalla.

Most Rev Dr. K. N Oommen
The first Presiding Bishop of St Thomas Evangelical Church of India Fellowship, Most Rev Dr K N Oommen. He was from Kurunthottical family, Tiruvalla. He was ordained by His Grace Most Rev Abraham Marthoma Metropolitan, in Marthoma church. And was consecrated as the Bishop of St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India in 1961. He was the Sabha Secretary of Marthoma church continuesly for 17 years. He has been one of the Vice presidets of I C C C. He went into the glory on 17 January 1984 and buried in St Thomas mount, Ayroor in Pathanamthitta, Kerala.

Most Rev Dr. John Varghese
Bishop Dr John Varghese, he is from Parepeedikayil family. He ordained as a presbyter in Marthoma church. Consecrated as one of the Bishops of St Thomas Evangelical Church of India in 1961. He was the contemporary Bishop of Bishop Dr K. N Oommen. He was died in 1964.

K N Daniel
K N Daniel, brother of Bishop Dr K N Oommen. He was one of the founders of the Church.

Most Rev Dr. P. S. Varghese
Most Rev Bishop Dr. P S Varghese was from Panamoottle family , Thuruthicaud. He was the first Bishop of st Thomas Evangelical Fellowship. In the year 1996, he was died. He was a faithful servant of the Lord

Rev P C Zachaiah
Rev P C Zachaiah Poozhikalayil. He was ordained as a presbyter in Marthoma church and then initiated to begin the St Thomas Evangelical Church of India. He was a great Leader, good orator, and a great church historian. He was died in 1991 and buried at Trivandrum. He spent his money and life for the church and Fellowship.

Very Rev P Philipose
Very Rev P Philipose, First Vicar General of the St Thomas Evangelical Church of India Fellowship. He was ordained as a priest in the St Thomas Evangelical Church of India Fellowship in 1983 by the His Grace most Rev Dr K N Oommen. He was called back to glory in July 2021, at the age of 80.
Most Rev Dr. George Eapen
​Presiding Bishop
Bishop Dr George Eapen Thirumeni. He was born in Ayroor, from Pinakuleth family. He was ordained as a priest in 1995. He was consecrated as the Bishop in 2010. Now he is the Presiding Bishop of the St Thomas Evangelical Church of India Fellowship.
